Promotion Markdown

Purpose

To create promotional markdowns at Product or SKU level, activate them, and monitor their status using the Promotion Markdown Log.


Prerequisites

  • Access to Price Change Module

  • Permission to create and confirm markdown

  • Valid Product Codes or SKU Codes

  • Defined promotion start and end dates

  • Prepared Excel file (if using template import)


Part 1: Create Promotion Markdown (Manual Entry)

Steps

  1. Navigate to
    Price Change ModulePromotion Markdown

    • Create Markdown (Product Code level), or

    • Create Markdown by SKU (SKU Code level)

  2. Click the Create Upcoming Markdown tab.

  3. Click the empty space under:

    • Product Code column header (Product level), or

    • SKU Code column header (SKU level).

  4. Search for items using one of the following methods:

    • Filter product hierarchy on the left panel and click Search

    • Enter Product Code or SKU Code directly and click Search

    • Click Search to load all products and perform wildcard search

  5. Tick the intended Product Codes or SKU Codes.

  6. Click Confirm to populate the selected records.

  7. Enter pricing details:

    • Input value in Discount %, or

    • Input value in Markdown Price

  8. ⚡ Only one field is required per row.

  9. Select the Start Date and End Date.

  10. Click Save & Confirm.

  11. Go to the View & Edit Markdown tab.

  12. Click Search and then Save & Confirm again if immediate activation is required.


Part 2: Create Promotion Markdown (Template Import – Alternative Method)

This method replaces manual item selection and is suitable for bulk uploads.

Steps

  1. Navigate to
    Price Change ModulePromotion Markdown

    • Create Markdown (Product Code level), or

    • Create Markdown by SKU (SKU Code level)

  2. Click Download Template.

  3. Open the Excel file.

  4. Enter the required fields:

    • Product Code or SKU Code

    • Either Discount % or Markdown Price

    • Start Date

    • End Date

  5. Save the completed file.

  6. Return to the module and click Import.

  7. Select the Excel file.

  8. Review the populated records.

  9. Click Save & Confirm.

  10. Go to the View & Edit Markdown tab.

  11. Click Search and then Save & Confirm again if immediate activation is required.


Part 3: Check Promotion Markdown Status (Log)

Steps

  1. Navigate to
    Price Change ModulePromotion MarkdownPromotion Markdown Log

  2. Set filters such as:

    • Log Date

    • Markdown Date

    • Product or SKU

    • Status

  3. Click Search.

  4. Review system records including:

    • Log By

    • Action (CREATE / ACTIVATE)

    • Retail Price

    • Discount % (Before / After)

    • Markdown Price (Before / After)

    • Start Date / End Date

⚡ Use this screen to verify whether the markdown has been successfully activated by the system (including SQL Job activation)


Notes / Tips

  • ⚡ Do not input both Discount % and Markdown Price for the same row.

  • ⚡ Ensure the Start Date is not later than the End Date.

  • ⚡ Ensure the Start Date is not earlier than the day of creation.

  • ⚡ Markdown will only take effect after confirmation.

  • ⚡ Use wildcard search when unsure of full Product or SKU Code.

  • ⚡ Always verify records in View & Edit Markdown before activation.
